The Digital Divide is Real

and it’s not just our local problem.

In our vibrant Calder Valley communities –

from Todmorden to Sowerby Bridge- a silent divide is growing. While some thrive in our digital age, too many of our neighbours, local businesses, and community organisations are being left behind.

✦ 65% of local seniors report feeling anxious about using essential online services

✦ Small businesses struggle to compete without digital presence or essential software

✦ Community groups miss vital opportunities and funding due to tech barriers

✦ Rural isolation is amplified when digital confidence is lacking

This isn’t just about teaching people to use computers.

It’s about ensuring every member of our community can:

✦ Use ‘online-first’ services for health, banking and other necessities that require internet use.

✦ Connect with loved ones without fear and overwhelm

✦ Participate fully in modern life and find up-to-date information only accessible online.

✦ Contribute their skills and wisdom to our digitally-obsessed future

Our Approach:

Community-Centred Tech Empowerment

We’re not just another tech support service. We’re building a community-focused movement that puts people before profit and understanding without upselling.

For Individuals

We provide patient, personalised support that transforms tech anxiety into digital confidence. From grandparents needing to upgrade to modern devices to regular tech tutoring sessions with a dedicated learning plan, we ensure no one faces the digital world alone.

For Local Organisations

We also act as strategic partners for businesses, charities, and community groups – not to create dependency and become their IT outsourced department, but to build their internal digital capabilities. We teach, we guide, we empower. Our most common projects involve getting the most out of your workspaces (Microsoft 365/ Google / Apple) and learning about available A.I. tools at your disposal.

For Our Communities Future

We’re actively exploring establishment as a Community Interest Company (CIC), formalising our commitment to reinvest in local digital inclusion initiatives and ensuring our social mission remains at the heart of everything we do. There aren’t many ‘techies’ who go community-first. Join us on a journey as we fulfil our mission (link coming soon)
